SHERLOCK STUDIO

Sherlock Studios is a design agency located in Brighton. The Studio requested a website redesign to increase site engagement, showcase their work, and improve the look and feel of their original website.

The website was designed with a focus on simplicity and ease of navigation. To achieve this, a block grid was utilised to lay out the entire site. The studio’s bold colours were used as overlays on case studies and highlighted information on the “Home” and “Story” pages, as well as for buttons and the navigation bar. This helped to create an eye-catching and visually appealing website that was easy to navigate.

I created a full-page takeover animation for the “Home” and “Story” pages. The main animation served as an introduction and was followed by the studio’s showreel to showcase their work. For the “Story” page, I created a more impactful introduction that complemented the “We create impact” title at the beginning.

I collaborated with the studio’s talented copywriters to create a design that would complement their brand’s bold tone of voice and make a strong impact. This was most apparent on the portfolio pages, where I used extra-large headings like “So…”, “Oomph”, and “Boom” to emphasise the brand’s personality.

A more fluid portfolio template was designed to showcase the client’s work. This was achieved through the implementation of a grid section that could be easily edited, allowing the client to add or remove items from their portfolio as needed.

Overall, the design of the website was carefully crafted to meet the client’s needs while providing an engaging and visually appealing user experience.

“As well as covering our motion dept, In this time she also designed our new web site design – not easy to come in to a creative studio and present your work back to you. She got it exactly right and took the pressure away from us. A delight to have around.”
